August 26

  • Attention men of Bishop Dwenger. If you are looking for a community of brothers to grow in faith and accountability with, consider joining St. Joseph’s Club. We will have our first meeting this Wednesday, August 27th in the Pastoral Ministry hallway at 8:15 am! Please see JP Martinez or Oliver Klipp if you have any questions.
  • Euell Wilson tutors; stop by Pastoral Ministry to see Ms. Wolf about getting added to the Mobile Serve group so you can sign up to take the bus on Sept 9th.  Also, make sure you have picked up and turned in your completed permission slip to Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry so you can attend tutoring at Euell Wilson.
  • Looking for a way to get LIST HOURS for service?  There are 8 slots still open for our Sept. 4th blood drive.  Sign up on the Mobile Serve app.  Make sure you pick up, complete, and turn in your permission slip to give blood.  Permission Slips can be picked up in Pastoral Ministry.
  • There are many organizations looking for help that can be found in the OPPORTUNITIES tab of your Mobile Serve app.  There are FLEX and LIST hour opportunities there.   If you are having issues finding opportunities to serve in the community, stop by and see Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry.
  • Auditions for Shakespeare’s "Much Ado About Nothing"  will be in the choir room on Wednesday, August 27th from 3:15-5PM.  Auditions are open to everyone!  

August 25

  • We will have 7:15am Mass tomorrow morning.  Please join us.  All are welcome!
  • The BD Marching Saints competed on Saturday in the ISSMA Showcase Contest at Kokomo High School. The Marching Saints earned a silver rating along with 5 other high school bands.
    This year, the Marching Saints show is Metalworks with a steampunk theme. Congratulations to the Marching Saints!
  • If you have signed up to give blood on Sept. 4th, please make sure you have picked up and turned in your permission slip.  If you have not yet picked one up stop by Pastoral Ministry and pick one up today!  We still have a few spots open if you are looking for a way to meet your list hours.  Take a look on the Mobile Serve app to see the times, or stop by Pastoral Ministry to talk to Ms. Wolf.
  • FBLA would like to remind everyone that there is a call out meeting Tuesday (tomorrow) after school in Mrs. Lewis' classroom- room 117. The meeting should take about 10 minutes.  We hope to see some new faces!

August 22

  • The Boys' Tennis Team lost 5-0 against DeKalb last night. Junior, Isaac Sarrazine, lost 6-0, 6-1 at one singles against a tough opponent. Senior, Anthony Sherman, lost 6-4, 6-1 after losing a tight first set at two singles. Sophomore, Deveraux Miller, lost in two sets  at three singles, losing 6-1, 6-4 after a close second set. At one doubles Junior, Peter Lassus, & Freshman, Fox Martin, lost 6-, 6-2 against an experienced senior led doubles team. At two doubles Senior, Ronnie Buskirk, & Sophomore, Pierce Smith, lost their match 6-4, 6-1 after coming up short in the first set. They play at Warsaw on Monday at 5:00.

August 21

  • The Boys' Tennis Team lost 3-2 against Columbia City last night. Junior, Isaac Sarrazine, lost 6-1, 6-2 at one singles. Senior, Anthony Sherman, lost 6-0, 6-4 after a close second set. Sophomore, Deveraux Miller, won in three sets at three singles, winning 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 with a strong finish in the third set. At two doubles Senior, Ronnie Buskirk, & Sophomore, Pierce Smith, cruised past Columbia City winning their match 6-0, 6-2. At one doubles Junior, Peter Lassus, & Freshman, Fox Martin, came up just short in a tight match where they lost 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, losing 7-5 in the third set tiebreaker. They play DeKalb at home tonight at 4:30.

We also raise money for Catholic Relief Services through the Rice Bowl program and work together with the other Catholic high schools in the diocese to learn more about Catholic social teaching. If you are interested, please join us on Tuesday at 7:20 in room 208. Breakfast will be served!

  • The Boys' Varsity Tennis Team beat Adams Central 5-0 last night. Junior, Isaac Sarrazine, had a close match at one singles', winning 4-6, 6-3 with a 10-5 win in the match tiebreaker. Senior, Anthony Sherman, rolled over his opponent last night, winning 6-3, 6-2 at two singles'. Sophomore, Deveraux Miller, won his first ever varsity match at three singles', winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. Junior Peter Lassus & Freshman Fox Martin won their first ever varsity match together at one doubles', winning 6-2, 0-6, 6-2. Senior Ronnie Buskirk & Sophomore Pierce Smith won at two doubles'. It was a close first set where they won the set tiebreaker 10-8, they went on to win the match 7-6, 6-3.

  • Do you like to knit or crochet?
    Would you like to learn how to knit or crochet? Do you like to do needlework or macrame? Well, if you answered yes to one of these questions then Philomena’s Friends is the Club for you!  No experience is necessary…we will teach you!  We even have supplies you can use.  Everyone is welcome to join!  We are a fun and creative group and would love more members that enjoy the art of crafting with yarn.   •  Mrs. Foltz is looking for BD families to HOST the 20 French students coming for one week from Oct. 13 to Oct. 19.  The BD student will have the opportunity to share American and high school culture with the French student.  There will be many activities planned but there will be family time too.  Please stop by Mrs. Foltz’s room 219 to pick up hosting information and to read about the students coming.
  • From August 13 – 20 the Dignity of Women classes will be selling Chaplet Rosary bracelets donated by Totus Tuus Rosaries at all lunches, before and after school to raise money for Trason Fish. Rope chaplet bracelets are $10 apiece. We also have handmade heirloom chaplets for $100 apiece. If you buy a handmade chaplet you automatically get a rope chaplet. We are accepting cash and check. All checks should be made out to Brandie Fish. All proceeds go to help the Fish family’s medical expenses.

    The Euell Wilson Center Tutors is a club where Saints tutor grade school children (called buddies) at the Euell Wilson Center to help increase literacy levels in an after-school program. Each Saint works one on one with a child building relationships, encouraging buddies to complete schoolwork, reading with buddies to improve their literacy level, as well as having fun and playing board games with buddies. This club is open to all grade levels to join. List hours are received for tutoring the children. Bishop Dwenger does provide a bus to the Euell Will Center. Permission slips are necessary to ride the bus. If you have any questions, see Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry.
  • A call out for the St. Gemma Club will be on Thursday, August 21st at 7:20am in Pastoral Ministry. The St. Gemma Club is a club that helps the young ladies of Bishop Dwenger to grow in knowledge, fellowship, and faith together. We discuss various topics pertaining to the dignity and vocation of women in the world today. We spend time learning about saints who we can model our life after to grow in virtue. If you have any questions, see Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry.
  • A call out for the Saints for Life Club will be on Friday, August 22nd at 7:20 am in the Cafeteria. Saints for Life is committed to promoting and defending the sanctity of all human life from conception to death. We work to spread awareness for the respect of the dignity of all human beings through chalk walks, participation in various marches, working with local organizations on collecting items and helping them in times of need. If you have any questions about Saints for Life, see Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry.
  • The Dungeons and Dragons club will have its callout meeting this Friday in the Library from 3 to 4:30.   • A call out meeting for the 2025-2026 Spirit Club will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 8:15 in the cafeteria. The Spirit club sponsors pep rallies, creates school spirit around the halls, pumps up the Saintuary at games and more! If you want to be a part of making BD school spirit, come to the cafeteria at 8:15 on Wednesday, August 20.

  • If you are 16 years or older you could possibly help to save a life through the donation of blood! September 4th is our fall blood drive at Bishop Dwenger. Check in your theology classroom to see if you meet the height/weight requirement is able to donate blood during the Bishop Dwenger blood drive. If you do, sign up for an open time slot on the MobileServe app and pick up your permission slip from Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry.
  • On October 13th, help the Right To Life of Northeast Indiana prepare and set up for the Right to Life banquet.   • Come join us for a quick call-out for the Baking Saints Club.  Come and have a good time baking treats, sampling goodies, and earning service hours as we try new recipes this year!  We will be inviting expert bakers to show us new techniques and tips during our Fun Bakes!  We will meet this Friday, August 15th in room 140 from 3:05-3:30pm.
