October 13

  • Join Saints for Life in praying for an end to abortion. We will be praying outside the Planned Parenthood on Lake Ave. Bishop Dwenger will be covering two different hours for the 40 Days for life campaign. Our first time slot is this Friday, Oct. 18th from 9 – 10 am. Our second opportunity to pray is on Wednesday, Oct. 22nd from 4 – 5 pm. Both of these opportunities count as LIST HOURS for service. If you are interested in joining us in prayer, sign up on the Mobile Serve app and pick up your permission slip from Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry.
  •  Girls' basketball tryouts will be held October 20th & 21st.
     Oct 20th: All Grade Levels Main Gym 6-7:30 p.m.  and on Oct 21st: All Grade Levels at OPS Facility on Dupont from 3:30-4:30 pm
  • Philomena's Friends will meet on Tuesday after school in the Library.  Don't forget to bring your projects.
  • There will be a  Social Studies Academic Superbowl Team call out meeting Tuesday October 14th, in Room 231(Mr. Rorick's room)  from 3:00-3:10. All are welcome, there will be snacks!  
  • There will be a Fine Arts Academic Superbowl Team call out meeting Wednesday October 15th, in Room 231 (Mr. Rorick's room) from 3:00-3:10.   All are welcome, there will be snacks!  
  • Euell Wilson Tutors make sure you sign up on Mobile Serve to ride the bus.

October 10

  • The Lady Saints Soccer team will be playing Concordia in the Sectional Championship on Saturday at 7 PM at East Noble High School.  Let's pack the stands for the girls as they continue their march towards a State title.  Admission is $7, gates open at 6 PM.

  • Students, this is a friendly reminder from the Spirit Shop.  Sometimes friends and family choose to purchase a birthday package and have your locker decorated for your birthday.  The birthday magnets belong to the Spirit Shop and will be reused for future birthdays.  Please do not take your magnets down or take them home.  Also, please be kind and do not touch magnets that may be on another students locker!  The St. Mother Teresa students kindly volunteered to decorate lockers for the birthday orders this year, and will come back at the end of the day to pick the magnets back up!  Thanks so much with your cooperation in celebrating our Saints birthdays this school year!!!

    If you are applying to a college or university with an application deadline of November 1, please submit your transcript requests through Naviance by Thursday, October 16. Please make good use of your day off for the PSAT to make sure your requests are submitted by this date. If you need any assistance with this process, please see your school counselor. Remember, you do not need to submit your applications before making your transcript requests.
  • The Discipleship club will have a meeting tomorrow, at 7:15am in the Library. We will be discussing our first topic of the year: Identity. If you have any questions, check the band app or find Rebecca Gillett or Juan-Pablo Martinez for more information!
  • Please join FBLA as they go on their Fall Leadership Conference. On November 5 & 6, FBLA students will get to collaborate with other schools and solve business challenges, attend a Pacers game, and finally tour the Indiana Statehouse building.  See Mrs. Lewis to join in the fun!

    This Wednesday is the Jubilee Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. This is an opportunity that only comes around every 25 years. It is a Mass to experience special blessings, graces and the knowledge that you are known, loved and forgiven by God. The Mass begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. You are also invited to view more information on Jubilee Year 2025 during your 4th period classes this Wednesday presented by the senior Honors Catholic Social Teaching classes. The Jubilee link has been sent to all teachers.
  • Spirit Club will be meeting this Wednesday, at 8:20am in the cafeteria. 
  • The Academic Team will hold a call-out meeting on Tuesday at  3:00 PM in room 233, Mrs. Long's room. This year's theme: The American Revolution and HAMILTON!!! Come explore history, fine arts, math, science, and English. Stop by and see what Academic Team is all about! Everyone is welcome—no experience needed. We hope to see you there!

  • The Marching Saints did a top-notch job this weekend at ISSMA Festival Class Finals at Southport High School. The Marching Saints competed against 11 other bands. The Saints received a gold rating. In addition, they were 1 of the 2 bands to receive the visual distinction award. The saints competed against bands 4 times their size. Congratulations Marching Saints!

Science academic team call out meeting is Friday October 10th after school for about 10 minutes. This year's theme is Science during the American Revolution.   • Freshman football had a good win last night over Northrop 16-6.  Scoring for the Saints were:
    Landon Tippmann and Aiden Wisel.   Reminder: no practice today!!!  Get home, work on your studies!!!!
  • The Bishop Dwenger Catholic Relief Services Club will be meeting tomorrow morning at 7:20 in room 208, Mrs. Hill’s room. Anyone interested in learning more about the club is welcome to join us.
  • College Visits Next week: Defiance College will be here Monday during 2nd period. Butler University will be here Thursday during 3rd period and Manchester University will be here Friday during 5th period. If you are interested in meeting with any of these college reps, you MUST get a permission slip form from the Guidance Office to be signed by your teacher and returned to the Guidance Office ASAP to attend.
  • Attention BDHS Medical Club: Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 7th, at 7 a.m. in the library. We will be focusing on diabetes detection, treatment, and management. Come on out and learn from a subject-matter-expert, our very own Kreigh Dumont!
  • Juniors and Seniors, if you were invited to apply for NHS, your entire application is due Friday at midnight. See Mrs. Schriner in the library with any questions.
  • If you are hosting for the French exchange, please turn in the prepaid activity fees and field trip sheet to Mrs. Foltz by tomorrow, Friday. 
  • Swim and Dive will have a start of season meeting on Monday, October 6th at 3:10pm in room 115.

  • The Bishop Dwenger Catholic Relief Services Club will be meeting Friday morning at 7:20 in room 208, Mrs. Hill’s room. Anyone interested in learning more about the club is welcome to join us.
  • FBLA had two tickets open up for the Notre Dame game next Saturday, Oct 11th.  Please see Mrs. Lewis ASAP if you are interested in securing one of these spots.
  • The Battle of the Bishop's is heating up!  As of Wednesday morning, Bishop Luers has taken the lead.  Let's go, Saints!  Bring in those diapers, baby wipes, and cash donations to Pastoral Ministry to see who will win the Battle of the Bishops, Service Level!
  • Book Club will meet today after school in the library.
  • Praise and Worship will meet tomorrow starting at 8:20 in the chapel. All are welcome: students, teachers, staff. Join us for a few minutes or stay the whole time. A great way to start your day with Jesus, beautiful music, pray and friends! Hope to see you all there.
