November 20

  • The English and Fine Arts academic teams will meet Thursday from 3:05-3:30 in Mrs. Wheeler's room, 121.  New members are welcome to join even if you missed the callout meeting.  Please contact Mrs. Wheeler for more information.
  • Attention BD Students – If you play an instrument, guitar or drums, join the BDHS Pep Band!
    The pep band will have a practice on Monday, November 25th and Monday, December 2nd 3:30pm-5pm in the band room. You do not have to be a band class to join the BDHS Pep Band. Everyone is welcome at all levels of musicianship. Teachers, staff and alumni are also welcome to join us too! If you have any questions, please see Mr. Cochran in the band room.

  • The Bishop Dwenger CRS Club is partnering with Catholic Charities to sponsor ten children this Christmas. Check out the Christmas tree outside of room 208, take a tag or two, and bring all gifts back by Monday, December 9. Don’t miss the chance to give these children a great Christmas!
  • Hey everyone! Ready to show off your skills or just want to have fun? Join our ping-pong club after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for epic ping-pong showdowns. Whether you're a pro at smashing serves, love some friendly competition, or just want to unwind with your friends — ping-pong is a great way to relieve that after school stress! 
    We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the cafeteria from 3:15 to 4:30, or stay as long as you can. We have one competitive match in March against Concordia and are looking for players to practice and hone their skills throughout the year.  We will play this Thursday, hope to see you there!  Any questions see Mr. Andrew Jones.

  • Congratulations to the Girls Swim Team.  They placed 4th out of 10 teams on Saturday at the Norwell Invitational.

  • BDHS Medical Club: Our next meeting will be tomorrow, Tuesday, November 19th, at 7 a.m. in the library. After school practice will be available Tuesday and Wednesday in room 211 from 3 to 4 PM for anyone who wants to get more hands-on experience. Also, if you have not done so already, please bring in ten dollars ($10) to pay your club dues.

  • Discerning God's Plan will be after school in Room 130 - Mr. Brewer's class  from 3:15 - 4:00pm.  All are welcome!
  • The Social Studies Academic Superbowl team will have their first meeting Tuesday November 19th from 3:05 to 3:30 in room 231(Mr. Rorick's room).   This years theme will be Ireland!   There will be doughnuts! 
  • PAWS Club will have a meeting on Wednesday, November 20 in room 103 after school to make treat bags for shelter dogs.
  • Bonjour!  Now that the Fort Wayne French Exchange is completed, it is our turn to go to France!  This exchange to Strasbourg and Paris will take place over Spring Break from Sunday, March 23 to Thursday, April 3, 2024.  Although the trip is usually only for students who hosted and current French students, there may be a couple spaces available for any junior or senior BD student.  towards  A deposit to hold the plane ticket is Monday, 11/18.  Sorry for the short notice.  Please see Mrs. Foltz in room 219 to pick up information to share with your parents this weekend.

November 13

  • The Spirit Shop is open today.  Tuffy T-Shirt orders and all other orders placed online are in and ready to be picked up.  Freshmen, if you never received your free Class of '28 T-Shirt at the beginning of the year, you can come pick one up while supplies last. Stop down over lunch or after school today to pick up your items.
  • A representative from Ivy Tech will be available to meet with students during all three lunches on Thursday, November 14th in the Guidance Office Conference Room. All interested students should stop by during their lunch period.
  • There will be a callout meeting for Boys Rugby in the weight room next Monday, November 18th after school.

  • Bishop Dwenger is partnering with MOVEPRO to collect winter coats through the month of November for the Volunteer Center.  BD families are encouraged to bring gently used or new coats to Bishop Dwenger.  MOVEPRO will have a truck on our campus on Fridays afternoons through 11/22/24 to take the coats to the Fort Wayne's Volunteer Center.

November 4

  •  Congratulations  to Emily Burns on her run at the state meet this past weekend.  She ran a personal best of 19:08 and placed 82nd place out of 248 runners.
  • Reminder to all spell bowl team members.  Please be in team shirts and to Mrs. Pflueger's room 165 as soon as you can today after 3 pm dismissal.
  • The SAINTS Boys Basketball Team is looking for Managers for the 2024-2025 season.  The complete job description is posted outside the AD's Office.  Duties include running the clock during practice, attend games, keep game stats on an iPad during games.  Benefits include free food at pasta parties, learn more about the game of Basketball and earn your Varsity Letter.  This experience will look good on your college resume.  Please contact Greg Slee or Varsity Coach Brandon O'Leary if you are interested or if you have any questions.  
  • Lacrosse will be having its initial parent/ player informational meeting on November 6th at 7:00 pm in the Cafeteria. If you currently play or have ever thought about playing, please come to this meeting to meet the coaches and learn more about this great sport. If you are unable to come to this meeting but still want to get some information, Please stop by room 112 to sign an interest form and pick up information. We look forward to kicking off preseason training and building this program to even greater heights.
