May 7

  • This is a reminder to AP English Lit students that you need to be here tomorrow morning at normal school start time for your AP exam. Please be in your testing room and ready to go no later than 8:00 a.m.  
  • Book Club members, remember our last meeting is after school in the library today.
  • The library is closed after school today.
  • Seniors: If you bought Prom tickets, Stop by room 123 before or after school to pick up your ticket and prom favor.
  • Attention Seniors  FBLA needs your used uniforms for the used uniform sale in June.  Please consider consigning or donating your items.  Details are on the BD website or see Mrs. Weadock or Mrs. Lewis.
  • SEA will be collecting recycling for the first floor today after school. 
    second floor collection will be tomorrow.  Please meet in room 112 by 3:05 to get started!  Many hands make light work and all are welcome to start knocking down your service hours for the next school year. 

May 3

  • Friday school detention is in room 123 today.  Check in is 2:35.  Doors close promptly at 2:45 so do not be late!
  • Attention those Driver's Education students that are taking your final driving test this weekend:  please be on time as we have a very tight schedule.
  • Bishop Dwenger Show Choir will be holding a workshop and auditions Thursday and Friday, May 9th and 10th after school in the choir room.  Are you thinking it looks like fun but not sure?  Come on Thursday to learn the music and moves and test it out before the Friday auditions!  This is a credited class but still meets after school.  There are no cuts!  All are welcome!
  • Don't forget to bring in those cereal boxes - the goal is a minimum of 500 boxes!  They can be dropped of in room 123 or 223.  


May 2

  • JV Baseball is cancelled for tonight - no game/no practice - see team email for details.  
    Varsity Baseball is still scheduled to play South Side as already scheduled.
  • Boys Golf Team, please stop by the AD's office after 2:15 or before you leave today to pick up a team shirt. 
  • Mrs. Ray is looking for several sophomores and juniors that are interested in being ushers for graduation. Ushers would earn flex service hours for next year. Please check the sophomore and  junior canvas page announcements for more information or stop in to see Mrs. Ray in room 214 if you have questions. 
  • Seniors: today and tomorrow are the last days to purchase prom tickets! If you haven't purchased tickets, you can do so using the jotform or in Ms. Wolf's room, room 123, before or after school today and tomorrow with CHECK ONLY!
  • All library books are due May 7.  If you do not turn in your library book, it will be marked as lost and you will be charged to replace it.  Remember, if you have any outstanding charges, your report card and/or diploma will be held until they are taken care of.  
  • Driver's Education registration for our Summer session is open.  You may pick up the forms in the Main Office.
  • The Student Council is hoping to collect 500 or more boxes of cereal for Ave Maria House.  Ave Maria House works in conjunction with St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen to feed the homeless in our city. Each morning Ave Maria House offers breakfast and goes through around 7 boxes of cereal. In an effort to stock Ave Maria House for summer we are asking the students of BDHS to bring in a box or two of your favorite cereal. 500 boxes of cereal will help Ave Maria House feed the homeless for 71 days. This is a simple way to live the Work of Mercy of feeding the hungry! All boxes of cereal can be dropped off either in Mrs. Yanez’s room, 223, or in Ms. Wolf’s room, 123.
  • The Student Council will be sponsoring a $1 dress down day on Friday, May 10th for St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen. Please make sure you follow the dress down day guidelines as laid out in the Student Handbook found on the BDHS website

May 1

  • Thank you for all who donated books for Healthier Moms & Babies and The Women's Care Center book drive.  We surpassed the goal of 100!  In fact, we collected over 1800 books.  The dress down day is TOMORROW, May 2nd!
  • Book Club members, please go to Canvas, read the announcement from today, and take the attached quiz.

  • There will be a call out meeting for any BDHS students interested in joining color guard (includes dance choreography too), drum line or marching band on May 9th at 7pm in the band room. We do not make cuts. Everyone is welcome to join. Starting this coming school year, you can earn fine arts credits! If you are interested and cannot attend the meeting, please message Mr. Cochran.

All documentation is necessary to purchase tickets.

April 29

  • Student council members helping with organizing our storage space, the session for Today is now canceled but we will still meet in room 112 on Wednesday as discussed. 
  • SEA will be collecting recycling on Tuesday and Wednesday this week after school. please meet in room 112 at 3:05 to get started...  For all SEA members looking to possibly be a chair for the upcoming school year, The google form is live on our canvas page. Please go and check it out! 
  • Volunteers are needed for our All School Mass on Friday.  Please sign up outside the Chapel.
  • Attention all Tutors for the Euell Wilson Center this school year: 
    Please come to the SAC lobby for your lunch on Tuesday, April 30th.  We'll be celebrating your efforts this year,

  • Today is the LAST DAY to order the yearbook.  Go to bdyearbook.com to do so.
  • Next week on Tuesday April 30th during 2nd period a representative from Sweet Aviation will be here to discuss career opportunities that exist in aviation and the training necessary to become a pilot. If this is something you are interested in learning more about, please stop by the guidance office before Tuesday and pick up a permission slip form. Sky is the limit Saints, go reach it!
  • Come support our boys rugby team TONIGHT @ Shields Field.  JV at 6pm and Varsity at 7:30.
  • Come to our Musical the Secret Garden on Friday/ Saturday at 7PM, 4/26-27. Tickets at $10 at the door and $5 for students.  Come out and support the Performing Arts!
  • There will be a call out meeting for any BDHS high school students interested in joining color guard (includes dance choreography too), drum line or marching band on May 9th at 7pm in the band room. We do not make cuts. Everyone is welcome to join. Starting this coming school year, you can earn fine arts credits! If you are interested and cannot attend the meeting, please see Mr. Cochran.
  • BDHS Medical Club Members: We have the opportunity to get CPR certified on Thursday, May 16th, at 4pm. There are only 20 seats available in the class so please e-mail or Canvas message Mr. Quigley to secure your spot.

  • The time has come to submit portraits and group shots for the video to be played at graduation. Every student is recognized whether or not each Senior submits a picture but if you choose not to, your Senior's school picture will be used. All photos are subject to review by administration and will not be used if deemed inappropriate. If you have not yet taken senior photos or do not want to submit any, please email bdseniors2024@gmail.com. Photos are due by May 1st.

If you would like to add group candid photos, those can also be added to the same link. You can find the submission link on the Senior Canvas page and in the Halo bulletin. All photos need to be submitted by May 1st.
