August 14
- Tuesday will be Picture Make-Up day during all lunchtimes. This is ONLY for those students who missed Verification Day - this is NOT for "retakes" for those that disliked your picture.
- Interested in reading and discussing great books? Book Club will have a call out meeting Tuesday, August 18, after school in the library. Stop by to learn more and meet fellow readers!
- There will be a call out for the newly formed Philosophy Club on Tuesday, August 25 at 3:00 p.m. in Room 111.
If you are interested but cannot come, contact Dr. McGarry. - The Speech and Debate Team will have it's call out meeting after school on Tuesday, August 18 in room 209. Please see Mr. Chenowith or Mrs. Scudder if you can't attend.

All grade levels welcome! No prior experience necessary — just a willingness to learn, practice, and have fun! First Call-Out Meeting will be August 20, Thursday morning at 7:30 in Mr. Spy’s room 204 in the math hallway. If part of the team last year, just respond to Mr. Spy's email. - Bonjour! Join the French Club! Our first meeting will be Thursday, August 20th after school in Mrs. Foltz's room 219. All students who are excited to learn about French culture are welcome! We will get to know each other, talk about plans for the year, and enjoy a snack! Hope to see you there!

- Girls soccer practice is cancelled today, however, the Jersey Ceremony will be happen today at 6:30pm in the cafeteria.
- Seniors: The message regarding the Lilly Scholarship was re-sent through Canvas. Please check it out. If you have any questions, see Miss McGuire in Guidance.

WELCOME BACK BISHOP DWENGER SAINTS!!!
- Attention seniors:
Please check Canvas for a message from Miss McGuire regarding the Lilly scholarship. The Lilly scholarship is the largest local scholarship available to Bishop Dwenger students. If you're eligible, you are encouraged to apply. The Lilly scholarship application must be submitted online by noon on August 26. Please see Miss McGuire and the guidance office if you have any questions. - If you are looking for opportunities for SERVICE HOURS, here are a few!
- 1. The Red Cross is in desperate need of blood donations. If you are 16 years or older you could possibly help to save a life through the donation of blood! September 3rd is our fall blood drive at Bishop Dwenger. Check in your theology classroom to see if you meet the height/weight requirement is able to donate blood during the Bishop Dwenger blood drive. If you do, sign up for an open time slot on the MobileServe app and pick up your permission slip from Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry. There are also slots open for underclassmen and those that cannot give blood to help during the blood drive.
- 2. On October 12th, help the Right To Life of Northeast Indiana prepare and set up for the Right to Life banquet. You will be helping to set up tables, chairs, decoration, registration areas, and offering help in any other way needed. Sign up to help on the MobileServe app! - 3. Notre Dame Federal Credit Union is hosting a branch blessing with Bishop Rhoades on August 19th for their new branch downtown in the Harrison at Parkview Field. They are looking for 2-3 students who can help direct event guest to the parking area from 4pm to 6pm. Please reach out to Ms. Wolf by August 17th to see if this would be a good flex service opportunity for you.
- Call-outs Meetings for Clubs:
- 1. A call out meeting for Euell Wilson Tutors will be on Tuesday, August 18th at 3:10pm in room 218. The Euell Wilson Center Tutors is a club where Saints tutor grade school children (called buddies) at the Euell Wilson Center to help increase literacy levels in an after-school program. Each Saint works one on one with a child building relationships, encouraging buddies to complete schoolwork, reading with buddies to improve their literacy level, as well as having fun and playing board games with buddies. This club is open to all grade levels to join. List hours are received for tutoring the children. Bishop Dwenger does provide a bus to the Euell Will Center. Permission slips are necessary to ride the bus. If you have any questions, see Ms. Wolf in Pastoral Ministry.
- 2. A call out for the St. Gemma Club will be on Wednesday, August 19th at 7:20am in Pastoral Ministry. The St. Gemma Club is a club that helps the young ladies of Bishop Dwenger to grow in knowledge, fellowship, and faith together. We discuss various topics pertaining to the dignity and vocation of women in the world today. We spend time learning about saints who we can model our life after to grow in virtue. - 3. A call out for the Saints for Life Club will be onThursday, August 20th at 7:20 am in the room 218. Saints for Life is committed to promoting and defending the sanctity of all human life from conception to death. We work to spread awareness for the respect of the dignity of all human beings through chalk walks, participation in various marches, working with local organizations on collecting items and helping them in times of need.
